Shooting of Andre' Hill

Today an unarmed Black man was shot and killed by police in Ohio. Less than 10 seconds into the interaction, the cop open fired. Police waited 6 minutes before administering first aid.

The officer involved, Adam Coy, has 9 previous public complaints of excessive use of force. In one case, smashing someone's head into their car 4 times during an arrest, which resulted in a $45,000 settlement.

The officer has had his badge and gun revoked, and is on temporary paid leave. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is currently heading the investigation into Hill’s death.
